Baking Chips

New Looks to Traditional Baking Chips

Baking chips used to be chocolate or butterscotch, and those were pretty much your choices. But, like everything else, the chocolatiers have made many different flavors of chips to use in baking.

For example, you know how much you love the flavor of cinnamon? And the way chocolate chips are so easy to use in recipes? Now they make cinnamon baking chips, and you can add them to breads, muffins, cakes and cookies. They are the size of mini chocolate chips, and the consistency is the same. You can store them for six months as long as they're in a dry and cool place, and they come in one pound bags, which yield about three cups of chips in each.

Another nifty new flavor of baking chips is cappuccino. Everyone loves the rich flavor in coffee, and you'll love it in cookies, too! Or you can add cappuccino baking chips to your normal morning cup of brew, to make it a chocolaty rich treat.

Another new and special flavor of baking chips is green mint. They pack a wallop of mint flavor in a tiny chip. Use them to make tasty scones, cookies and cupcakes.

Ghirardelli has long been known as a creator of exquisite chocolates, and now they've put new flavors into baking chips. One of these flavors is 60% cacao deep rich chocolate chips. They contain the rich and balanced flavor that Ghirardelli is known for.

Ghirardelli also makes a white baking chip. They use vanilla and whole milk powder, and blend them to make these white chips. They will be quite tasty in cookies and cupcakes.

Hershey's makes a number of new flavors of mini baking chips to make cooking more festive and fun. Some of their flavors include toffee, chocolate toffee, milk chocolate, Reese's peanut butter and sugar free chocolate chips.

Another brand new flavor is Choc-Au-Lait Chips. Guittard makes these little wonders, and they are white baking chips. They're made with real cocoa and vanilla, and they have a smooth texture which makes them ideal for cookies, cakes and cupcakes. They offer easy melt chips, so they are perfect for candy making, baking and eating right out of the bag.

Andes makes peppermint crunch baking chips, sure to be a hit at holidays and parties. They are festive red and white in color, so they will liven up cookies and candies.

There are even new baking chips made the vegan way, with carob instead of chocolate. The carob is blended with a natural grain sweetener. These are perfect baking chips for cookies and brownies.

With so many choices, baking chips are sure to stay as popular as they have always been with bakers.
